I’m sort of toying with the idea of doing this on a weekly basis. This sharing of my favorite things. Seems logical to do it at the end of the week. Also, favorite starts with an “F”, just like Friday does.
It might be fated.
Quick sidenote since we’re talking about letters: Junior got a set of magnetic letters for the fridge for Christmas, and they come with this little thing that you put the letter in, then push it and a little song comes on about that letter. It goes: D says “duh”, a D says “duh”, every letter makes a sound and D says “duh”. I’m not totally sold on it’s effectiveness.
Anyway – my very favorite thing today is my husband. I’m terribly prone to bouts of anxiety, and subsequently, lunacy. And this has been kind of a rough week on me. D is always there to calm me down and make me feel sane. Always. Yesterday morning, I got a text message from him that said ”Let me count the reasons I love you” and have been getting random reasons throughout the past two days. Everything from my “kind soul” to my “sweet guns”. (I sort of like to flex my non-existent muscles at him.) And those little reminders that I’ve got someone on my side no matter what has been a wonderfully soothing salve for my soul. He’s my favorite.
He requests as much anonymity as I can give him on my blog, so I still won’t show you his face, but I will show you my second favorite part of him.
*drool*
Another soothing presence when I’m having a rough/anxious/crazy episode is the big guy up stairs. My main man, JC. So my second favorite thing this week is this necklace.

I love how understated and simple it is.
Number 3 is my buffalo skull, Wally. I’d sort of forgotten about him until I was taking pictures of the headers in our garage and he photo bombed a couple of the shots. He’s relegated to the garage for now, but he’ll have a place of honor in the new house.
Speaking of the new house, as of next week we will be giving the bank our 60 day notice! We’re getting very close! Shingles are going up as I type this, and I will have lots of pics to share on Monday.
Last but not least favorite thing today is this ring!

Decor and the Dog is hosting a giveaway from Blue Soul Designs, and I entered to win but then got nervous that I might not win, and therefore wouldn’t have this ring. So I bought it.
$10! Can you believe it???
What’s on tap for you this weekend? Gonna buy/spend time with/wear any of your favorite things?

Have a great weekend!
Good favorite things too!
Cute post =) Have a fabulous weekend!
I think you caught yourself a keeper in him, Abeh! I’m of course speaking of D and not necessarily the skull, but both are pretty cool.
LOL! Thanks Sara! I think so too.
Isn’t it great how our DH’s are so good for cheering us up? I think you have some fabulous favorite things! Can’t wait to see the new place.
Cheers!
I love this feature! I love that necklace and I think J.C. is pretty awesome too! You are the best writer! I am always inspired when I stop by.
What a nice thing to say. Thank you, Kari!
You are Blessed and I am thrilled for you
…. I want that necklace!
Thanks dude – I want it too!
Cute post! I’m so glad you liked Sarah’s stuff!
We have the fridge letters with the song dillymabobber. While I can’t give the device 100% credit (Daycare drills this stuff in every day), Brynn knows all of her letter sounds. Tara learned her letter sounds with the same song in pre-school. So, watch out, little man could be reading before you know it!
Awesome! Good to know. Thanks for the note!
Awwww, what a sweet husband you have
My niece has that fridge magnet thing too so I could totally sing along while reading that. lol
That’s so sweet of your husband with those texts!
That cross necklace is gorgeous too. I love how different it is- not your standard cross on a chain. Great finds!
I love this post – totally do this every week! I’m LOVING that cross necklace! Usually I’m not into them so much, but this one is so simple and sweet. Also, always love to hear bloggers say happy things about their husband.
