Look at me having some follow through! Two Fridays in a row. What, what! (Totally raising the roof like the geeky white girl I am.)
I have been hungry all week. Like, angry hungry. Hangry.
I think it’s because I haven’t had these enchiladas.

I’ve made them several times, and D’s response to them was “If I had a restaurant, I would put these on the menu.” Right on. They are THAT good.
Second favorite thing: this wine.
D randomly picked it up for me one time, and I swear I’ll never be the same. I’m ruined for all other wines. Yes, the name is a little naughty, and yes, I accidentally gave a bottle of it to my boss without thinking of any awkward implications, and yes, I hate asking for it by name, but everything else tastes like swill to me now!
D made me this sweet wine rack out of old pallets. Notice all the bottles look exactly the same?
Yeahhh.
Third favorite thing today: Ruffles in rustic spaces!

Our master bedroom has doors leading out to the back porch, and I need these to frame them.

I show D a LOT of pictures I find on Pinterest, and have been sneaking ruffles in to the mix every so often. My plan is to desensitize him to the idea so that when this comforter appears on our bed one day, he won’t balk.
I think it’s working.
Also? I need to learn how to sew.

What do you think? A few frills will look good with stone walls and beat up fir floors, right? Who wants to sew me some ruffles??

If I had the ability for sewing I would sew you up something nice and pretty. Those enchiladas are so yum! I am kinda starting to crave them. May go on my menu plan for next week…
They’re on mine!
I heart ruffles. And I do sew and sewing ruffles sucks. Not that I have the talent to have actually done it….but I’ve heard stories….
Annie, if you start sewing ruffles, I will totally buy them from you!
I heart ruffles! So adorable-And the wine rack! Awesome!
I think I love now ruffles too. I totally went to that Winery in Napa; it became one of my favorites also…I still love the story of how you gave it to your boss. HA!
Jealous!! If I went there I would probably become an instant alcoholic.
First off- I love reading your blog. You are hilarious. I often get hangry too… it’s a serious thing. Shayne often tells me to eat something because I’m getting grouchy… which often makes things worse but after I eat I am better… so he has a point.
Secondly, I also love the wine to your boss story. Very funny.
And thirdly- I adore ruffles. I want to get some ruffle-y (yeah- its a word) dresses for the flower girls at my wedding.
Oh- and ps- the desensitizing plan is brilliant. I am going to put that idea into action!
It is serious! And it’s been a life-long issue. My mom used to have to haul Cheerios in a ziplock for me when I was little so I wouldn’t melt down. Now D carries around snacks just in case!
Ahhhh those enchiladas look so GOOD. Big ol’ chunks of avocado rock.
Also, j’adore that charcoal/black ruffly bedspread. Desensitize away so I can live vicariously through you.
I love ruffles too. Especially in unexpected rustic-like spaces. Those curtains…!
That is a good plan. Let me know if it works, maybe I will start showing Adam photos of hot tubs on back patios….
Those enchiladas look delicious! And I’m in love with ruffles too! Also I’m trying to sew for the first time ever this weekend!
Neat! You’ll have to post about it so I can learn!!
I love the ruffles in rusty spaces! Great post! Lots of good inspiration!
blessings,
karianne
Oooh I love your desensitization strategy! I’ve been trying to get my husband to warm up to the idea of a colorful kilim rug, but I think my smack-him-in-the-face-with-a-photo-out-of-nowhere strategy was ill-conceived.
You make me laugh!
Looooove the ruffles too!!
Hangry! hahaha
Those ruffle curtains are so gorgeous without looking too feminine. Love them.
Desensitization. I like how you work!! I’m not much of a ruffle girl (I like how they look, they just aren’t me) but I know the husband would be 100% opposed! Good luck!
I totally loved reading this post! I’m gonna have to try that wine. And the ruffles? LOVE them!!
Yay! Thanks Whitney!
You have got to be kidding me…I am IN LOVE with those ruffle curtains!
haha love your sneaky plan to win your husband over. I think it will work. Women throughout history have followed the same plan, for sure.
And I tend to think most wine tastes like nail polish remover, so can appreciate an affinity for just one.
So funny that you gave your boss that wine – awkward!! Love the ruffled duvets – I want one!
