It is so much fun going to the house now, because every time I do, something new and exciting has happened.
D found these doors on Craigslist. They were salvaged out of a country club in Kansas City.
We bought two sets. This is going in to the media room, off the living room. And the other set will go between our master bedroom and bath.
The eagle has an “M” etched into the frosted glass which is perfect, because that happens to be the initial of our last name.
The trim is in, and D and dad worked on staining that this weekend.
And perhaps most exciting for me is the cabinets and granite! Junior’s bathroom:
And the kitchen! The cabinet doors are on.
The open spaces from left are open shelving, refrigerator, dishwasher, double ovens. And the sink is in the corner.
And the island is set, and it will house the cook top and the microwave.
And the granite! The glorious, beautiful, veiny granite.
I didn’t know what those wires were for, but D informed me that they’re a telephone jack and cable. Fancy! Now I can watch American Pickers cook right along with Bobby Flay.
So we had a very productive weekend, but Junior, my mom and I did get the chance to sneak away to attend a St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Getting bored.
Over it.
How was your weekend? Did you kiss any Irish? I totally did.. thank goodness I’m married to him.

Um, I love those doors! They are amazing!! What a great find. The granite and the trim also looks wonderful – I can’t wait to see things when they’re all finished. I’m not sure how you can handle all this waiting!
Thanks Kristen! Now that we’re down to the end, it’s getting pretty hard to wait!
Love the doors! They look perfect in that spot.
Junior is just too cute! Glad you guys had a good weekend,
Thanks Brandi! Hope you did too!
GAHHHHH, your baby is cute! Your house is awesome, but I feel less inclined to mention it in light of your adorable baby being included in this post! My kiddo had a great time at the Lawrence parade until she, too, was over it. HAHA! They should make parades for babies that last exactly 10 minutes, then end!
Exactly! He dug the bagpipes briefly, then was back to wanting to crawl around in the grass. lol!
I love the frosted doors and how awesome that they have history to them. We went to a St. Patricks Day parade Saturday also. I didn’t get to kiss an Irish guy though. Haha!
Shoot! hahaha!
I kissed my girls – they’re Irish!!
We left our leprechaun trap out but didn’t catch Shamus O’Toole this year. He made a mess and scattered rolos all over the floors.
Then he peed in the toilet turning the water green!
Kelly
Way cute, Kelly!
What a lucky find to have an “M” on them, I LOVE those doors! So jealous of that open ceiling in the kitchen!
Yep, I think it was meant to be!
What a find on those doors!! Everything is looking so good! Your little man is just too stinkin cute!
Thanks Whitney, we sure think so!
Amy those doors are awesome and that granite!! NICE! Your son wears the green well! We’ve determined our daughter is 3/16 Irish. I’m equal Polish and Irish and my wife is 100% Italian, so it washes everything out in our daughter!
Hhahaha, that’s funny!
Love those doors! Great find!
Everything is coming along so great. I can hardly wait to see it all done so I can just imagine how you are feeling!
Pinch the cheeks of that cute little sleeping baby for me. Does he look like his daddy or what?
Love the granite. Love the granite. Yes I love your granite. I have granite envy. And those doors? Ok, those are cool, in my book not just a little cool, but big cool.
~Bliss~
He looks exactly like his daddy… but, the older he gets, the more everyone says they can see some of me in there too!
Love that granite so much! It’s all so pretty!!! Those doors are awesome, good find D! It’s getting so close to moving day, I bet you guys are bouncing off the walls.
I am drooling over your kitchen!!! Everything looks fantastic!
And the pictures of you and Junior are too cute. I just want to pinch his cheeks!
Thanks Gabbi! They are super pinchable.
Love the doors! Reminds me of an Irish pub or something! ~note the St. Paddy’s day shameless tie in~ Everything is looking awesome. Only a few more days! Get to packing slacker!!
Boy boy has some alfalfa hairs on his head!!! He’s so adorable.
Hey! You don’t tell me what to do!
I love those doors! Your house is going to be BEYOND gorgeous Amy! When can I come visit?
And Junior is an Irish cutie!
Open invitation, Ashley! Let me know when you’re on your way and I’ll get the guest room all set up!
The doors are great! Definitely a conversation starter. I like the stain on the bathroom cupboards as well.
Antonella
These doors are swoonworthy. And I had to show Drew, who drooled a little. His last name is M, too. AND he has this moderate obsession with American/Eagles (nothing to do with Philadelphia though, oddly enough). It sort of crushed him when he realized I was showing him in mere vain, that he can’t buy these. Anyway, they rule, nice find!
GAH how could I forget to add…JR is the cutest lil pup!
Wow what a score!! I loooove the monogrammed doors! How perfect that the initial is yours?! I believe in decor fate.
So many awesome things in this post! It is so incredible that you found those doors AND that they have your initial on them!! I love it
And I can’t get over how cute your little guy is
Those doors are pretty much the coolest thing ever. I’m an M too, so I’m extra envious. Your little man is so handsome, btw!
i did kiss an irish…my hubs…too
. i love those doors! How cool! “M” is our initial too…must be an irish thing!
Sweet find on the doors!! And I am straight up a white cabinet girl but I REALLY like your blacks ones… a lot, a lot!
And your kid is ridiculously cute. Like squeeze the cheeks cute. But you knew that.
So much progress! The kitchen is going to look fabulous when it’s all done. And what a great salvage with those monogrammed doors.
