Favorite Things

Well, we didn’t quite hit our deadline.

We have to be out of the rental tomorrow, and the new house isn’t ready for us.

We are officially homeless!

We’ve got everything moved out of the rental, so all that’s left to do is scrub it.  We are really hoping and praying that we aren’t far away from moving into the new house, but in the meantime, my parents have graciously offered to take us in.

They’ve offered us their home, the screwing up of their schedules, the inconveniences that come along with adding three extra bodies, and I sincerely hope… some of Mom’s delicious home made food.  ;)

They offered all of this to us AFTER they spent the last week moving our crap, cleaning up after us, wrangling Junior, and literally helping build our new home.

This is not an ideal situation to be in, but I sure am thankful for family.

You are my very favorites.

The furry members of the family will be camping out on the farm, which they’re excited about, and we really appreciate.  So thank you, too, wonderful in-laws!  I feel so lucky to have married in to you.

We’ll never be able to repay you all for everything you’ve done, but in the meantime, here’s a virtual high five.

*high five*

  1. DRAT! Keep your head up grrrfriend, it’s almost done! Your parents are truely awesome! I love ‘em! If there is anything we can do to help, please holler. And try to have a happy birthday tomorrow! Even with these speedbumps then finish line is nearly here and it’s going to be amazing! *HUG*

  2. Families definitely are the best! We lived with my in-laws for over a year {yes, you read that correctly…A YEAR} after we sold our townhouse…paid off the loss we took on it…and saved up for a downpayment on a new home. We couldn’t have done it without them…and without the major support of my parents either. I hope I’ll be able to do the same things for my children one day! :)

My fingers are crossed that you move in ASAP!!!!!!!

  3. You look just like your mom, who by the way is as cute as a bug, and because I’m a mom of a daughter your age I’ll tell ‘ya true ….. I’d bet it means as much to your mom & dad to be able to do those things for you as it means to you. Just ask your parents. I bet they’d also stay in on any Friday or Saturday to watch Junior too because we grandparents are funny that way.

  4. We are so happy that we can help, and very thankful that the furry friends are at the in-laws!! LOL… I’m happy to cook for ya too :)

  5. TEAR. I thought this post was gonna be all we’re-moving-in-tomorrow but alas. Sorry to hear about the delay, I know it’s a bummer (I’m on like a month delay myself at this point…) it’s super frustrating, especially because there’s so much excitement about moving in, but sounds like you got good peeps to fall back on! Hope the delay isn’t too long!

  6. Thank goodness for family! We had to live with my in-laws for a month before we could move into our house. It was definitely not ideal, but we all made it through :)

  7. I’m sure they are happy to do it. We had to crash with my parents for six weeks when we first moved from the west coast to the east coast. We were so grateful to have a place to “land” while we focused on other important decisions.
