When It Rains…

Our puppies have been staying with my in-laws on their farm while we’ve been displaced.  And they love it there.  They have lots of land to run on, they get to chase cows and horses, and they get spoiled terribly.

It is the one comforting thought when you lose a pet.  Knowing that they were loved well and spent their last days happy.

We brought our sweet, happy, loyal Toby home for the first and last time last night.

And our hearts are broken.

  1. I’m sorry for your loss. I know how hard it can be to lose a pet. Just keep thinking of the good times and how happy you made him.
There is a poem, called Rainbow Bridge, that someone gave me when I lost my cat years ago that helped me. I don’t know if you have read it before, but here is a link: http://petloss.com/rainbowbridge.htm
Even now when I read it, it makes me sad in a very happy way.

  2. Oh Amy I am so sorry. We just lost our family dog Olive Mae this Spring and it still makes me tear up a little when I think of her sweet puppy smile.
I bet my sweet Olivia is showing Toby where all the best treats are in puppy heaven right now!

  3. So sorry Sissy. Pets are loved as family members. We are so heartbroken for you guys. Praying for you <3

  4. Oh Amy… I am soo soo sorry to hear this. I’m seriously crying for you right now. We lost our one pup just before her fourth birthday about a year and a half ago and I remember that pain all too well. Focus on the good times and know that she had a good life.

    Thinking of you guys!

  5. :(
I wish I could have met the little dude… he looks as sweet as sugar!
I’m so sorry for your loss. This is really a time of “trials by fire” for you and your family. You are strong, but it’s okay to cry.

Hugs for you and the family!
