I’m slightly terrified this morning.
I’ve known this day was coming. July 2, after all, usually appears on most calendars. But this July 2 means something more to me than the eve of the eve of the Fourth of July.
It means… I’m Blogging Without Borders.
Thirteen of my best bloggy buddies and I have committed ourselves to a “season of change” this summer. We’ve all picked a project, or a space to work on or update in ways we’ve never tried before.
And then we write about it every other Monday for the next eight weeks.
And this may not seem like such a big deal, but I’ve never before done most of what I plan to accomplish in this space.
My mission: The master suite.
Looks innocent enough.. But we need some nightstands. And I intend to build them.
Those curtains may look good enough to the nekkid eye.. but they are too short and I intend to fix that. With zero sew skills.
That bathroom has plenty of storage, it’s true. But my jewelry needs a nice home, and I intend to make it one.
So you see, I’ve got plenty to do in the next eight weeks and with a record breaking heat wave and toddler in tow, I’m slightly terrified! But I’m hoping this will be just the kick in the rear I need to get this room in shape.
I hope you’ll stop by the other fine ladies involved in Blogging Without Borders and follow their projects as well!
Dana @ Crafted Niche, Jaime @ Crafty Scrappy Happy, Heidi @ Décor & More, Tisha @ Delectable Home, Shannon @ Fox Hollow Cottage, Kirby @ Kirb Appeal, Holly @ Life as a Thrifter, Cassie @ Primitive & Proper, Debbie @ ReFresh ReStyle, Jessica @ Stay At Home-ista, Karah @ the space between, Kelly @ View Along the Way and Laura @ Top This Top That.
Cheers! (Because yes, there will be wine.)

Can’t wait to see this project!!!
Oh this looks fun. Can’t wait to see how you do. I’m off to check out these other ladies now!
your house is so great…. you are going to make this room awesome!!!
You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! I will cheer you on with pom-poms. From my pool.
Seriously, though, outside deadlines are the best thing for getting projects done. I need someone to follow me around doing something annoying like singing 99 bottles of beer on the wall or something, just to motivate me to get something done.
From your pool… Stinker.
You’re going to do great! I think having a game plan is half the battle! Can’t wait to see what you and the other girls do!
I already love your bedroom and the double doors into your master bath but all this will be like the cherry on the top. Looking forward to everything you have planned.
What a beautiful space to work with. Can’t wait to see the night stands. Sounds interesting!!
Try not to melt though!!
I will try!
Congratulations on being part of this, Amy. It sounds like a lot of fun. Can’t wait to see what you will do to the bedroom – it’s such a great space already.

This space has such great bones. I love the light fixtures, and your dark trim is still my favorite thing. I can’t wait to watch you build some furniture!
Uh, yeah, me neither.
Fingers crossed…
Sounds like fun! I’m sure you will come up with something fabulous.
aren’t you brave . all this with your little one. My challenge will happen at night when my 3 year twins and 6 year old are settled- their my “day challenge”. Good luck and I can’t wait to see the end result!!
Yep, most of our DIY happens after 8pm!

Linda
Do it! I’ll cheer you right back!
I’m expecting big things out of you Amy!
….and I have zero concerns about you being able to deliver!
No pressure, Dana!
Good luck! Looking forward to seeing what you whip up.

You go with your bad self! Sewing, building and crafting, oh my!
You go, girl!
Good luck! I have all these big plans, too, with V little skill to accompany…
You can do it.
Commitment is a scary thing! Good luck!!!
It is! But hopefully just what I need!
How fun! I can’t wait to see your progress. Your room is so beautiful to begin with that I can’t even imagine how great it’s going to look! And you’re inspiring me to try to do something similar. Just without all the pressure of being in an official challenge type of thing where peeps can check up on me.
lol
Good luck! I can’t wait to see what you come up with =)
You’ll totally own it. I have no doubt. Meanwhile, my blood pressure goes up every time I think about having a post ready to go with a finished project in two weeks.
