Not to be overly dramatic or anything, but I think I might be dying a slow and agonizing death.
From heat stroke.
I have the opposite of cabin fever, I think, thanks to the weeks upon weeks of triple digit temps.
I’ve never been a summer lover, to tell you the truth. I don’t like to be hot and loathe sweating. I’d much rather wear boots than flip flops, and please the spiced apple cider.
My body’s natural reaction, therefore, is to go into straight up denial that it is August and not October.
D has noticed the subtleties. As I continue to drag my newly unboxed treasures from the basement into our living spaces, accents of cinnamon and burnished orange follow me.
D: “Aim? I think it’s still summer time…”
Me, lovingly placing my cinnamon spiced pinecones with their maroon and gold ribbons into a wooden bowl: “Not for me, it’s not.”
D: “Got it.”
Gone are the Island Breeze Scentsy cubes. Our house smells of Creamy Caramel now. It is never, ever too early to welcome fall.
Just ask my fall Pinterest board.
Truly, I could live in an eternal autumn.
Swoon with me now….

Who’s with me? Are you sad to see summer go? Or do you welcome fall as I do?
One more.

I think my little fall-fan heart just grew 2 sizes bigger thanks to you post. I’m soooooo ready. I’m very sick of summer now. Absolutely love the idea of sweaters and boots. (I’m techincally wearing boots today even though it’s supposed to be 100 degrees outside heh). Post as much fall stuff as you’d like!
I’m with you! Pumpkins and anything made with pumpkins are calling my name!
Summer can suck my left foot! After we talked about Halloween costumes the other night, I absolutely ventured to the storage room and rummaged through the fall decor boxes. I’m thinking we need to have a night of crafting fall cuteness and drinking mulled wine soon!! In our jeans, boots and comfy sweaters!
Bring on Fall! Growing up on Vancouver Island I never really appreciated the seasons, because to be quite honest, there was really only two. Now that I live in Ontario with four clearly distinct seasons, I live for fall. Warm days, crisp nights, no more cicadas driving me loopy in the late afternoon, no more flippin’ mosquitos making it impossible for me to go outside without bugspray after 5 pm, fall fair…
Sigh. Yeah, I’m done with summer.
haha heat isn’t my favorite but I love having the summer off…so it can go slowly for me as far as I’m concerned.
Have a great weekend!
I love fall too. especially this fall…in our new houseeeeeeeee
There is only fall, 100% of the time, in my mind.
Girl I am with you 100%. I dont love summer especially this summer which makes me want to melt a little. I hate August most of all becausee stores bring out their cute new sweaters and kids go back to school and it just feels like it should be fall! That’s all there is to it. I do try to control my urges to September 1st, but that’s as far as I’m willing to hold out.
i really think we were separated at birth. Can we please make a world where its Autumn all the time? We can wear sweaters and boots, sip spiced cider, have soup simmering on the stove, a pie baking in the oven, and a fire crackling in the fireplace. Can you tell Fall is my most favorite season of all time? Bring on October/November!!
Girl, I feel you! I live in Arizona where it’s 100+ degrees everyday for 3 months straight in the summer. Every time I go outside I feel like I’m standing in a furnace – it’s awful so I’m on the fall train with you! Can’t wait for the temps to cool down, even if it’s only to 80 degrees haha
I’m the complete opposite! I get so sad when I start seeing Fall clothing in stores. I could live in a hot humid climate all year round
Although Christmas is my fav and I started getting excited about it around March haha.
An eternal fall sounds perfect! And that last photo? I recreated that on my door last Halloween. It was my first-ever blog post …

I love all the seasons except the snowy one. I love fall because you get to wear cozy sweaters, cute boots, and scarves. I LOVE scarves. I love when all the leaves change in the river valley. I love the crispness in the air. But then it snows…
Oh, I’m a till-the-bitter-end kinda girl! Give me my Labor Day last hurrah at the the beach and THEN I’ll be ready for fall.
xo Heidi
I am swooning, and I’m not even a fall girl. I’m more of a spring girl, at least decor-wise. Although, I think I’m a fall-chef, I’m all about butternut squash soup, pomegranate seeds, pumpkins… Now I want fall to come:)
Jessica
I could live in eternal autumn, too. Early autumn … perfect sweater and jeans weather … perfect red wine weather.
I totally understand! I’m not ready for the “idea” of summer to be over, but I’m over the hot weather and ready to pull out my fall wardrobe!
I love Fall and Spring but here in the South they each only last about two weeks each. Summer has always been one of my favorites but after years of not being outside I can hardly tolerate the heat anymore. There are kids on our street that play outside all day, running back and forth on the hot asphalt. I sorta dread the day when Noah wants to play outside in the triple digit heat of the afternoon.
I’m ready to move to Alaska – just to escape the heat of NJ summers. That or Maine. lol
Fall and spring are my favorite times of year. moderate temps are my best friend!!!!!
I’m totally wIth you. And I never got rid of my Cranberry muffin ScentSy.
I LOVE me some Fall!!! Bring it on!! Love the pictures, makes me super anxious
I’m with you Mama Punkin’!!!
Ready for fall.
MMM the smells of autumn are the best. Then I welcome all the pine/winter scents that follow. Winter is my JAM though.
I bought a witch broom at a sale yesterday in honor of fall. Don’t even go there with a comment… just saying what I bought.

Now that Andy has to go back to work on Monday, we can officially be done with summer. I love fall clothes!
I am SO with you, girl! Except for the flip-flop thing… Being a (former) Florida girl, I wear them year round (even on snowboarding trips. In the snow… crazy-town, I know). All week I’ve been repeating in my head “August=Almost Autumn. August=Almost Autumn!!”.
I’m with you, Amy. I’m so tired of the heat and humidity – can’t wait for the crisp morning of a September day.
I’m with you! Yeah for Fall!!
Oh my gosh…that second picture! I die! Although I love the beach and warm weather, I’m with you and it’s been BEYOND hot and I can’t take it.
I live for the fall and the crisp air and the cinnamon-apple-ish smells. It’s one of my favorite times of the year, and I can’t wait to experience my first fall in our new home! {Well actually living in the house for it.} Although if we get another foot of snow again this October I’m going to lose.my.mind.
Seriously, is there a place where fall never ends? Because I will go there with you and live happily ever after. Totally my favorite!
I would like to say that I love both summer and fall equally.. but I would be lying.
I truly enjoy summer in North Western Ontario–the wild berries, swimming in and sailing on the lakes, the midnight sun–but I only enjoy it so much because it’s so brief (we only get real summer weather from mid June to early August).
Here the evenings are already beginning to turn cool and there’s a nippy edge on the breeze; a few leaves have already begun to turn signalling the end of summer.
And I am so very ready.
all of the above make my heart very warm! I’ve started decorating for fall and here its going to be in the 90′s the rest of the week here! erg…such a tease
