A Happy Little Wreath

November 27, 2012 - Author: Amy - 32 Comments

Thanksgiving was great and blah blah blah.  Food and family and blah.  No one cares now that it’s over, right?  Now we’re all like,

Know what’s sad?  D doesn’t find Will Ferrell as hilarious as I do.

Him: I love you.

Me: I love lamp.

Him: Are you drunk?

Sad.

Anyway, now that we got the whole ‘being thankful for stuff’ out of the way, it’s time to celebrate little baby Jesus by acquiring more stuff to be thankful for next November.

I started by acquiring five little wreaths.

And affixing five little bows.

And cutting five little pieces of ribbon.

And scotch taping them to five little windows.

See those Santas?  My dad carved them and my mom painted them.  Don’t you think they should start an Etsy store to sell them??  They’d be rich!  Then by proxy, I’d be rich!  We’d be like Duck Dynasty: The Santa Edition, and the boys could grow their beards out while us girls just stood around looking fine.

Genius.

  1. I love wreath!! It makes me want to get one for our kitchen sink window- I think I’ll pick one up on lunch today. And yes- your parents should do that… you have a brilliant business plan!!

I got them at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. I have maaaaybe $3 in each wreath. :)

  3. LOL! Lookin’ fine! Poor D doesn’t know what he’s missing.

    P.S. “Really loud noises!!”

  4. Isn’t it funny how we jump holidays so quickly in the blogging world. I thought about sharing what we did for Thanksgiving too but figured no one cared at this point. Haha!
Elf is one of our favorite Christmas movies. Every time we leave to go on a trip we always holler back at Buddy, our cat, “Bye, Buddy.” Just like the dude at the north pole in Elf!

I’m in a glass case of emotionnnn!!!

  6. Those Santa’s are cute! I’d buy 10 or 19.

Andy doesn’t get why I love that movie so much… he’s all “how can it be THAT funny every time you watch it?” I’m all, “how can you watch Fast and Furious EVERY time it’s on TV??” And that’s not even funny. Boys… they are weird.

  7. Love these! I actually just told Jesse yesterday that I want to hang wreaths in our windows!

And those Santas are super cute!

Now I want wreaths in my kitchen windows!
I can’t wait for Duck Dynasty: The Santa Edition.

  9. Sad, very sad! What about Talladega Nights?!? Geesh, and here I thought D was perfect. :)

    Love the wreaths!

  10. There is just too much awesomeness in this post. 1) I spit out my spearmint lifesaver as I scrolled down and saw the “keep calm” picture, 2) I got real sad to see that D doesn’t share in our love of Will Ferrell, 3) your wreaths are too cute, 4) I love that you know what Duck Dynasty is and 5) your parents should TOTALLY sell those things on Etsy because they’d make millions, and most of all, D would love to have his beard back. :)

  11. hahaha… this post made me laugh. I love the wreaths, I LOVE the Santas (I’d totally buy one) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE ELF.

  12. Damn, Christina beat me to the “I love wreath”!

Mike also does not find Will Ferrel as hilarious as I do. It’s a cryin’ shame.

  13. The wreaths are sweet – I used to do that in a sunroom in a previous house – wreaths in every window (I think there were 8).

And you’re right – your parents are very talented. Where did you think all your creativity came from?

    What’s wrong with these boys??

  15. Lol — I think you’re on to something there! And yes, love me some “Elf” — what’s your favorite color?? ;-)

  16. Love these! I love the wreaths!!!

  17. Love those wreaths! And those Santas!!! Are you kidding me?! Your parents definitely need an Etsy shop stat!

By the way, in my book, D just lost some awesome points for his lack of Will Ferrel love. Just sayin’ ;)

    Me too, me too…

  19. I was trying to shake off the last time you said D was a long lost family member of Duck Dynasty. Now you said it again to including your parents. I must get this thought out of my head. I don’t want you guys to be them.

Dad needs to quit giving his stuff away and start carving! I might paint….Daddy isn’t too whoopie at the beard growing part, lol

  21. Things I love about this post: 1. Will Ferrell anything…especially Elf. 2. Your husband asks if you are drunk when you say awesome things. I also get asked this often. 3. Duck Dynasty. Amazing.

  22. Fine. D can go do his weird non-Will Ferrell things and you and I will watch the crap out of all the filmz!

  24. “Bye Buddy! Hope you find your Dad!”
Great movie! And yeah, your parents should totally start an etsy shop! Those Santas are fantastic!

  25. LOL at that poster. Love your writing style. I think you should offer to manage that Etsy store. You know. For a fee ;)

Yep, I think you have a million dollar idea with the Etsy shop. The world needs another Duck Dynasty. I’d nominate my husband to join if only he could grow a beard like that!

  27. HAHAHAH the keep calm post made me LOL, love it!! Also, i love wreaths in each window, it’s so christmassy I can barely stand it!!! Can you tell I am a little hyped up on christmas right now?

  28. Hahaha. You crack me up.
    “Santa! I know him!”
    The wreaths look great.
They should definitely open a store. Tell your dad to get carvin’!!

  29. The wreath looks adorable – Little wreath about to adorn my kitchen window too! Boys rockin those loooong beards with you fine women would totally work for you guys!

You know that I love me some Will Ferrell. I think if work would let us, we would quote Anchorman all day long. Will Ferrell movies are the answer to every question.

I also love the wreaths too :)

  31. If i’d met you before you got married and I heard that D didn’t love Will Ferrell, I’d be all: “Amy, HUGE RED FLAG. Get out while you still can!” But now I’m realizing that marriages between Will fans and non-Will fans can work after all. I never would’ve thought it until this moment.
